Job Description

The Art Director is responsible for producing artwork for client brands including web pages, social posts, brochures, and other elements. Position may be Full-time, Part-time, or Freelance depending on applicants.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Art, Communications or related field
  • Five years (or more) of creative work in an advertising setting
  • An intimate understanding of design and web best practices/guidelines
  • Experience with a variety of software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere. Experience in After Effects, Lightroom, and Adobe Animate preferred
  • Understanding of brand voice/tone/look (guidelines)
  • Experience setting up mechanical files for print
  • Experience in design for print, web, and social media
  • Production experience managing vendors and clients for printing and installations 
  • Video and photography production experience including creating shot lists, storyboards, and experience on-set and/or directing with a crew
  • Photography/lighting experience
  • Continued awareness of the latest social media and advertising trends
  • A strong understanding of brand development and marketing concepts
  • Ability to thoughtfully defend creative decision making and explain design choices
  • Works well under pressure, thriving under tight deadlines

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with copywriter/content strategist to develop deliverables
  • Manages the creative team to ensure that assigned deliverables are on-time, on-budget, and on-brand.
  • Leads the creative team in new business efforts and is responsible for all creative presentations
  • Provides leadership and inspiration, and conveys the vision and values of the agency.
  • Stays current on industry trends, while identifying and implementing creative solutions that strengthen our clients market distinction and leadership position.
  • Lead brainstorming/creative sessions to generate ideas.
  • Participates in continuous professional development (e.g. certifications, workshops, additions to skill set).

  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication 
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds (files, paper boxes) periodically
  • Primary sedentary work with occasional bending and reaching
