Assistant Winemaker – Loop de Loop Wines
Location: Columbia Gorge AVA (with deliveries to Portland & the Gorge)
Position Type: Full-Time

Loop de Loop Wines is hiring an Assistant Winemaker to join our small, family-run winery. We work with organically farmed grapes and practice minimal intervention winemaking—taking the time to do things right, even when it’s hard.

This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with our winemaker/owner, handling all aspects of wine production. As a small team, we wear many hats—from vineyard to bottle, and then to the market— as the season demands. You’ll lead day-to-day operations in the cellar and oversee harvest crews during the busiest times of year.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead assistant in the cellar and during harvest to ensure high-quality wine production
Operate and maintain our small bottling line managing the crew
Rack wines in preparation for bottling
Biweekly topping and vigilant sanitation in the cellar and around the winery
Occasionally deliver wine to accounts in Portland and the Columbia Gorge
Assist with vineyard work and weed management as needed
Maintain hoses, winery equipment, and make occasional transfer station runs
Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of winery experience
Deep understanding of cellar management and its impact on wine quality
Passion for organic and regenerative farming practices
Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities with enthusiasm
Excellent attention to detail and cleanliness
Independent and team-oriented, with good decision-making skills
Reliable transportation and clean driving record
Physical Requirements:

Moderate to heavy physical labor
Ability to stand for extended periods
Willingness to work long or irregular hours during harvest
Able to repeatedly lift up to 55 lbs
Work both indoors and outdoors in variable weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.36 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
