Job Description

Summary of Job Description – Province Business Manager Franciscan Friars Conventual, Our Lady of Consolation Province – Mt. St. Francis, IN

The Province Business Manager will provide strategic leadership and manage the administrative operations of the Franciscan Province. Reporting to and working closely with the Minister Provincial and his definitory, this role oversees Finance, Human Resources, Maintenance, and Landlord Services and collaborates with the Mission Advancement and Communications teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage staff-supported operations.
  • Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and ensure fiscal accountability.
  • Maintain transparency, enforce internal policies, and communicate clearly.
  • Foster strong relationships with staff, donors, and community partners.
  • Identify risks and opportunities and develop strategic responses.
  • Serve as liaison between the Minister Provincial and department leaders.
  • Approve hires (excluding departments reporting directly to the Minister Provincial).
  • Handle HR policies and disciplinary matters.
  • Support organizational transitions with flexibility and strategic input.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (in Business Administration, HR, or related field).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in nonprofit, religious, financial, or HR settings.
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of Franciscan Charism and Catholic social teachings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced computer proficiency and alignment with mission-driven work.

The role requires adaptability, collaboration, and a service-oriented mindset aligned with the spiritual mission of the Franciscan community.
