Who we are

We are an early-stage, venture-backed consumer products business founded by serial entrepreneurs with a successful record of operating and investing in health and wellness brands.

Our mission is to advance public health by producing superior alternatives to nicotine and tobacco products. These products serve as vastly healthier alternatives to smoking and vaping, and also as powerful cognitive-enhancing tools for high-performing individuals.

About the Position

We are seeking a Chief of Staff to work closely with our CEO and COO to drive strategic initiatives, operational execution, and company-wide effectiveness. This is a broad role for an exceptional person which blends high-level strategy with hands-on execution, supporting Sett’s growth while improving leadership effectiveness and operational efficiency. This is a perfect opportunity for a highly-motivated, early-career person looking to get hands-on experience across a variety of functions in a fast-growing startup. The ideal candidate will be comfortable joining an investor presentation in the morning and helping to answer customer service tickets in the evening.

Key Responsibilities:

This role’s day-to-day will be 50% product operations (product development, inventory management, etc) and 50% business operations (supporting finance, fundraising, and business development). This role will report jointly to the CEO and COO.

Specific functions include but are not limited to:

  • Driving strategic initiatives by collaborating with senior leadership to execute high-impact projects and company-wide operations.
  • Optimizing leadership operations by ensuring key initiatives stay on track.
  • Supporting the preparation of board materials, investor presentations, partnership materials, and other key reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Leading strategic projects from conception to execution, collaborating with internal leadership and external partners to ensure project success.
  • Overseeing internal project management by engaging stakeholders, defining scopes, managing deliverables, and ensuring timely execution of next steps.
  • Supporting leadership and finance functions in managing budgets, forecasts and planning.
  • Identify and implement technology solutions to drive efficiency across your core job functions.

Experience:

3+ years of professional experience. We are open to a variety of backgrounds for this position, which may include one or more of the following:

  • Investment banking, private equity, accounting, or management consulting experience.
  • Engineering, Operations or Finance roles within startups or fast-growing companies. 
  • Entrepreneurial experience.

  • Ability to develop and implement data-driven strategies along with excel modeling skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive. You don’t wait around to be told what to do.
  • Highly entrepreneurial and ability to tackle a broad range of tasks, including new challenges and problems outside your comfort zone.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Possessing a deep sense of urgency.

Location

Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA preferred. Remote work considered for exceptional candidates.
