CITY OF ROCKFORD
Has an opening for the following position:
City Manager and Recorder
Works directly under the supervision of the City Commission. Follows established city
administrative policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines. Performs financial, accounting,
and records custodial functions for the City. Works directly with the public daily.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or a
combination of education and experience in a related field. Must obtain State Municipal Finance
Officer Certification (CMFO) within 18 Months of employment. Accounting or book keeping
skills are important. Must be able to attend monthly evening meetings. Must live within 25 miles
of Rockford.
Applicants must be able to carry out oral instructions and be in such physical condition as to be
able to perform the requirements of the position in an office environment. Must be able to work
reliably and independently. Must be able to pass a background check and be bonded.
Salary Range: $50,000- $70,000 annually depending on qualifications and experience with
benefit package.
