Location: Houston, TX

Summary:

Legal professional who specializes in drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts across a defined geographic region (e.g., North America, EMEA, APAC). This role combines legal expertise with a strong understanding of business operations and risk management—proven experience negotiating and managing commercial contracts in the energy sector.

Job Duties:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including:
• Master service agreements (MSAs)
• Supplier/vendor agreements
• Distribution and reseller agreements
• Licensing, SaaS, and technology-related contracts
• NDAs and confidentiality agreements
• Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, procurement, operations, and compliance teams)
• Collaborate with regional and global legal teams to ensure contract terms comply with local laws and corporate policies
• Assist in resolving disputes or contract-related issues.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and guidelines.
• Monitor changes in regional laws and regulations affecting commercial activities and advise accordingly.
• Ensure that all contracts reflect consistent and enforceable terms aligned with business strategy.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience negotiating and managing commercial contracts in the energy sector.
• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 5–8 years of experience practicing law in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial contract law, preferably within a multinational corporation or law firm.
• Experience with cross-border transactions and international contract law is a strong plus.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, with excellent legal drafting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

• Must speak English & Spanish
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulations (e.g., GDPR, data privacy laws, FCPA, etc.)
• Licensed attorney in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, preferably in the state of Texas.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Americas on short notice
• Proficiency in contract management systems and legal technology tools.
• Business acumen and ability to align legal strategies with operational goals.
