Position Overview

A mid-sized, fast-paced organization is seeking a Director of HR Operations to lead and evolve the infrastructure of its Human Resources function. This role is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational excellence of key HR services including HRIS, payroll, compliance, and employee data governance. The ideal candidate will bring a systems-oriented mindset, deep understanding of HR technology, and a proactive approach to optimizing people operations through data and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day and strategic operations of HR systems (HRIS), payroll, and employee data functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll administration in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead the configuration, optimization, and data reporting capabilities of the HRIS platform.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and implement continuous improvement initiatives across HR operations.
  • Maintain compliance with employment regulations and internal audit controls, with a focus on data privacy and security.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, IT, and HR leadership to ensure alignment on systems, data, and operational planning.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing HR operations team, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; advanced degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity over HR operations, HRIS, and payroll.
  • Proven expertise in enterprise Workday HR technology platform
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, compliance frameworks, and HR data integrity best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage teams, and drive strategic outcomes through operational excellence.
