About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and licensed Master Plumber with a strong background in commercial plumbing to join our growing team in Grand Rapids, MI. The ideal candidate will oversee and execute large-scale plumbing installations, maintenance, and repairs for commercial and industrial projects. This role requires expertise in reading construction drawings, coordinating with multiple trades, and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the installation and repair of commercial plumbing systems including water mains, backflow systems, storm drains, grease traps, and gas lines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, and specifications for large commercial projects (e.g., schools, hospitals, office buildings, manufacturing facilities).
  • Coordinate and schedule work with general contractors, project managers, and inspectors.
  • Ensure all work complies with Michigan commercial plumbing codes and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Supervise and train journeymen and apprentices, ensuring high-quality workmanship and job site efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot complex commercial plumbing issues and recommend cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and project progress.
  • Assist in bidding, material takeoffs, and procurement for new projects.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Master Plumber License (required).
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in commercial plumbing installation and service.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, plumbing systems, and building codes.
  • Proficient in blueprint reading, code compliance, and job site coordination.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience on commercial job sites.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
