Job Description

Role and Responsibilities: The Overhead Crane Operator responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, * Understand the safety of the Overhead Crane and operate without compromise to those safety systems. * Responsible for operating the Overhead Crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down. * Observes load hookup and determines safety of load. * Manipulates or depresses crane controls, such as pedals, levers, and buttons, to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement according to written, verbal, or signal instructions. * Inspects crane for defective parts, fills out daily operator checklist and notifies manager of defects or malfunctions. * Must adhere to all safety requirements. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements: * At least one year of overhead crane experience required. * Must have positive attitude and ability to take ownership of area. Ability to work with precise limits and standards of accuracy * Strong work ethic. * Quick to learn and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment. * Self-directed individual. * High school diploma required. Preferred Skills: * Manufacturing industry experience required * Forklift experience preferred * Positive Attitude, willingness to learn * Strong mechanical abilities Physical requirements: * Walking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling, Stooping (Frequently) * Lifting, Carrying up to 50 pounds (Frequently) * Temperatures (Frequently) Additional Notes: * May require overtime with little notice before or after normal work hours or weekends.
