We're looking for an experienced Scheduling Manager to guide our scheduling process from start to finish for exciting solar and battery energy storage projects! If you love ensuring projects run smoothly, training talented teams, and collaborating with various departments, this could be your perfect role.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the Way: Guide our scheduling team in crafting and maintaining comprehensive project schedules for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across multiple states.
- Keep Things on Track: Ensure schedules are realistic, accurate, and align perfectly with contractual agreements and project milestones.
- Spot Potential Issues: Work with schedulers to proactively identify potential delays, risks, and resource challenges, and then propose smart solutions to project teams.
- Collaborate & Communicate: Lead regular schedule reviews with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to keep everyone on the same page.
- Handle the Details: Review and redline contractual scheduling requirements during the pre-construction phase and clearly communicate these to project teams.
- Resource Management: Make sure project schedules are set up to track labor, materials, and equipment effectively.
- Reporting Excellence: Partner with peer managers to develop executive and inter-department schedule reports.
- Cost Control Coordination: Work closely with our Cost Controls team on weekly and monthly reporting.
- Mentor & Train: Continuously train and mentor our scheduling team to boost the quality of our schedules and project outcomes.
- Monitor Performance: Ensure assigned schedulers are tracking project schedule performance and effectively sharing trends with project teams.
- Share Your Knowledge: Provide scheduling fundamentals training to our estimating, procurement, and operations teams as needed.
- Cross-Company Collaboration: Work with our sister companies to manage project schedules in a shared database.
- Champion Best Practices: Promote awareness of the importance of accurate and timely schedule updates to all internal stakeholders.
- Team Co-Management: Help lead and support the Scheduling Team.
- Database Support: Assist with the management of our Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) Database and P6 Licenses.
What You Bring:
- A four-year degree (or global equivalent) in Construction Management, Electrical/Civil/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or Project Management.
- 7+ years of experience developing and maintaining project schedules. We especially love to see experience in Solar, Renewable Energy, Battery Energy Storage Systems, or Power Generation!
- 2+ years of direct team management experience preferred.
- Expert proficiency in P6 and the ability to train others on scheduling fundamentals and P6.
- Deep knowledge of planning, scheduling, Earned Value Management, Work Breakdown Structure, Critical Path Method, Risk Path Analysis, Program Evaluation Review Technique, and Time Impact Analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- A solid understanding of weekly schedule update processes and procedures.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Fantastic written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of MS Project is a nice bonus, but not required!
