Senior HVAC Design Engineer

Location: Union City, CA

Salary: $155,000 - 175,000

Responsibilities:

• Acts as a technical contributor during internal and client-facing design discussions
• Develops early-stage system layouts in digital format to support budgeting and planning
• Conducts detailed calculations related to system performance, sizing, and flow characteristics
• Visits project sites to verify alignment with design intent and helps resolve construction-phase questions
• Guides junior staff in producing HVAC and related system designs, ensuring quality and consistency
• Produces initial system concepts tailored to the unique requirements of each project

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally 10, with a focus on HVAC system design
• Strong understanding of air and fluid systems, along with general knowledge of how these systems function in real-world applications
• Proficient in design tools such as Revit and AutoCAD for mechanical layouts
• Familiarity with specialized piping systems is a plus
• Skilled at overseeing and supporting the development of junior technical staff
• Able to communicate clearly, both in writing and in person, with team members, clients, and construction partners
• Comfortable speaking in front of groups and representing the team in professional settings
