Position: Power BI Developer

Duration: 3 months with extension after fiscal year

Location: Montgomery, Alabama (Onsite from Day 1)

Position Description

• We are seeking a skilled Power BI Analyst/Developer to enhance our data visualization and reporting capabilities.
• The ideal candidate will combine analytical expertise with development skills to create, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards and reports.
• This role requires a strong understanding of business intelligence, data analysis, and the ability to design user-friendly, interactive dashboards while managing the technical aspects of data integration and optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into actionable Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Design and develop interactive dashboards that provide actionable insights and improve decision-making.
• Enhance existing dashboards to improve usability, interactivity, and performance.
• Develop data models and write SQL queries to integrate, transform, and prepare data for reporting.
• Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure dashboards meet business needs and provide value.
• Ensure the accuracy and reliability of data visualizations and reports.
• Stay updated on Power BI updates and features to continuously improve reporting solutions.

Skills Required

• Strong experience with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and report creation.
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming data.
• Demonstrated ability to design visually appealing and functional dashboards.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on data accuracy and insight generation. Familiarity with integrating various data sources into Power BI.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Skills Preferred

• Knowledge of best practices in data visualization and user experience design. Experience with advanced Power BI features like bookmarks, tooltips, and custom visuals.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Services or other cloud-based data solutions. Basic understanding of statistical analysis or machine learning concepts. Ability to write documentation for dashboards and data processes.

Experience Required

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Power BI in a professional setting. Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining dashboards for business use.

Experience Preferred

Experience in a similar role in the government sector or large organizations. Experience working with cross-functional teams, including IT and business stakeholders.

Education Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field, OR equivalent practical experience.

Education Preferred

Certifications in Power BI, SQL, or related tools (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate)
